Buddha's Head - Ayuthaya, Thailand
A tree has completely overgrown and framed the Buddha's head. There are stones and brightly colored offerings in the crevices between the roots. We wanted to spend our last few days in Thailand away from the intensity of Bankok. Ayuthaya, this ancient ruin city is about 45 minutes by train from Bankok and on the same line as the train to the airport. It was a natural place to spend our last days. When we flagged a taxi to take us to the train station, the asked where we were going. When we told him, "Ayuthaya" he indicated that he would take us all the way there for 56baht, which was the equivalent of about $7US. A deal was struck and we were on our way. | |
