Saturday 4/8/06 - 5 Days Post Surgery

I had a good night. One Percocet relieves the pain for me, makes me drowsy and doesn't leave me feeling like I have a hangover.

I did figure out that if I do a minimal set of exercises and stretching and exercises before I get out of bed I'm not as stiff and I don't encounter that surge of pain first thing when I first get out of bed.

After I brushed my teeth I walked my first 75 yard loop today. It's a glorious spring morning. There is a humming bird next in an oleander bush down the walkway. Mama has 2 eggs.

12:30pm - I have just walked a 2nd 75 yard loop. My whole hip area is more stiff sore and aggravated today than yesterday. It's irritating, not debilitating though. I've taken 2 Tylenol but it's not doing magic. Percocet would only make me drowsy.

I'm enjoying setting up this website. It takes enough concentration to set up the style and links that I focus less on my pain. However, the down side is that when I first get up after sitting here for awhile, my pain jumps to a 7 until I stretch everything out.

During my physical therapy session, Megan helped flex me further, showed me 3 additional exercises and massaged my swelling and scar tissue to help soften that. I'm more flexible now, but I'll be more tender later on tonight she tells me.

Chuck wasn't around when I wanted to shower and then put my TED HOSE back on. I stretched and adapted my position then was able to put both my left and right side TED HOSE on!
