Monday 5/15/06 - 42 Days Post Surgery

9am: I slept well! Until 8am this morning! I figure that I slept a total of 10 hours last night. Ibuprophen and Tylenol PM did the trick. I woke up 2 or 3 times with pain and each time was able to go back to sleep within 15-30 minutes. That is an improvement. I also don't feel as foggy this morning.

2pm: I just spent 3 more hours sleeping. My body must need it. I still don't feel energized, but I don't feel too bad. I'm going off to a movie.

8pm: The movie was OK. It took up some time. Then we drove to the end of Broadway and hiked on one of the flat desert trails in the sunset for about a half mile. It was gorgeous and the saguaros were all budding. I haven't been able to walk on any of these trails since last August. It made me smile and happy. On the way home we stopped and watched the bats fly out from under the Pantano bridge on Broadway. Thousands of them wake up and fly to the fields in the northwest to feed through the night. Their exodus is spectacular.
