Saturday 5/13/06 - 40 Days Post Surgery

7am: I didn't sleep well at all last night. I was in pain. This morning I'm in pain and in a fog. It's not pleasant. Yesterday was the last of my Celebrex prescription. If this is the result of not taking it, then I need more. Last night as an experiment I took Tylenol PM rather than Percocet. I didn't do as well, but I'm not sure if it was because of the Tylenol rather than the Percocet or something else. I will try Tylenol PM again tonight.

2pm: I went back to sleep at 10am this morning. I just woke up. My incision is red and burning again, as if the abscess is again returning. I finished the last of my antibiotic on Thursday. Perhaps I need more. I don't think this requires going to the emergency room and I think that is my only option unless I wait until Monday when Dr Cohen's office is open. I'm disappointed and in a funk.

I am still in pain. It's a dull ache of level 4-5 which for me is irritating and distracting. Walking and/or sitting, which usually does wonders, is not helping. The truth is right now, I wonder if I'll ever lead a normal life again.
