Thursday 5/11/06 - 38 Days Post Surgery

7am: Megan comes to work me over this morning and then I go to see Murray Nance P.A. regarding my abscessed sutures. I'm feeling good. Same aches and stiffness, but overall, better than last week.

1pm: Megan worked me over and help me extend my range of motion even further. In some movements my range of motion is normal. In some movements my range of motion is greater than prior a year ago when my hip was 'normal'. And in some movements and ranges, my left (surgery) side is more flexible than my right because I've been working on it with such focus. I'm going to start working on both sides to extend my range of motion, strength and flexibility throughout my entire body.

Murray Nance P.A. noted what I thought he would; that my incision is finally healing! He also confirmed that when something like and abscess or setback happens, pain does in fact appear to increase through the whole area. Part of the reason, at least in my case, is that the raw feeling of the abscess and burning sensation of the surrounding skin brings the attention to the area and increases the perception. It is true that I was unable to distract myself from ache in the area for long periods of time. That has all subsided now.

I felt less tired after this session with Megan than after any session previously.

10pm: It's 10pm and I'm still awake! This is more normal
