Who Why How   Brief Overview   Weekly Summary   Daily Summary   Read Journal   Tuesday 4/18/06 - 15 Days Post Surgery 7am: Good morning. The stiffness, aches and pain in the morning are even more reduced this morning. Noon: I just returned from the first visit to my doctor, Dr. Cohen. I'm healing just fine. I do have an infected stitch but it will resolve itself. I no longer have to wear Ted Hose. Yea! I can cycle on the stationary bike at the gym, but I can't go cycling yet. Too bad. I could really enjoy cycling. And finally, my next appointment is in 4 weeks, at 6 weeks post surgery. 4pm: A friend, with the same first name, invited me to go shopping. I decided to chance it. I wanted to get out and do something new. I figured that if I got fatigued I could sit while she tried on clothes, go back out to the car for a while, or have her take me home. We were only going 3 miles from home. I always like having a contingency plan. I brought my cane and it worked out wonderfully. I walked for most of the time around the entire mall and when I wasn't walking I was standing. Neither leg fatigued and the cane is easy to use. So tomorrow I'm going to start walking longer distances with my cane to build up my endurance. 10pm: I'm still doing well and didn't fatigue early tonight. Both legs are slightly tired, but that is to be expected. Today was the most that I have walked since last August. But it is time for me to say good night. |
