Who Why How   Brief Overview   Weekly Summary   Daily Summary   Read Journal   Thursday 4/13/06 - 10 Days Post Surgery 6am: It's morning time. I slept pretty well last night. Night is still the worst time for pain. However my tactic last night worked so that I got a full nights sleep. When I went to bed I took 2 Tylenol PM. When I woke 4 hours later I took 1 Percocet and slept for 3 more hours. I will probably need more sleep this afternoon. First thing this morning I needed to stretch out the areas where there was pain. And when I first walked, there was a sharp pain localized in one area as I moved through 1 part of each step. The pain was sharper than yesterday but only lasted a fraction of a second during each step on my left leg. I slept for a period of time on my left side. The whole area is becoming more soft and it no longer feels as if I'm laying on a roll of dimes when I'm on that side. I plan on doing my exercises and stretching twice today and walking to practice a proper gait. But other than that, I plan on resting quite a bit. My body feels like it needs it. 9pm: I had a good day and I'm tired. I did my exercises twice and walked, periodically throughout the day. There is pain my left ankle and outside calf, left outside thigh, left buttocks and left front groin. The pain is strongest when I first start walking, then it subsides after 10-20 steps. At the end of the walk, as those muscles fatigue, the pain increases once again. That's how I know it's time to stop We went to an outdoor jazz concert from 5-8pm. Again it was glorious to be outside and the trio was superb. |
