Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement (April 2006)Who, What, Why & How... also use the Section Guide on the left rail to navigateWho Why How   Brief Overview   Weekly Summary   Daily Summary   Read Journal
Hello, I'm Cheryl Kline a.k.a. VagabondBoots because I love to hike. Since August 2005, problems with my left hip prevented me from hiking and even from walking very far. April 3rd, 2006 I had an MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery) Total Hip Replacement. What are these pages? They are my daily journals and summary pages which includes one person's experiences under going and recovering from MIS Total Hip Replacement surgery. Why did you write and publish this? I hope it becomes a personal reference for other people requiring similar surgery. I would have appreciated reading something like this when I first was told that I would require total hip replacement surgery and I learned about MIS (minimally invasive surgery). It's original purpose though, was to keep me occupied during the time I was recovering but would fatigue quickly if I over exerted myself. I passed the link onto family and friends so they could read about my progress. Note: Dr Cohen and Murray Nance P.A. expected the outcome that I'm experiencing and document. I have to admit that while they were telling me about the outcome, I disbelieved them totally. How can I navigate most easily? Look along the left rail under Section Guide For: If you prefer reading a concise summary, click Daily Summary If you would prefer an even more concise overview, click Weekly Summary Or if you prefer reading my thoughts and perspective, click Daily Journals: to start at the beginning. Or click any Surgery Day + to dive into the middle. Once in any page, you can click [next|prev] in the upper right corner to go to the next or previous day. Also, the Section Guide menu along the left rail, which you can see on this page, is the same on every page for quick navigation. Along the right rail in the Daily Summary and Weekly Summary are links to related pages in outside sources. If you click anything else you will end up in my Travel Photologs. Enjoy them as much as you care to. Then to return to the section on my hip replacement go to the home page and find the link along the left rail. If you are reading this before June 2006, you are reading it live. I post every day. So if you become interested, you can follow my progress until I'm well enough to be 'out and about' for a whole day... or longer.... maybe even hiking in my VagabondBoots. |
