Note: Click each individual photos to see an enlargement. Water and ice, extreme temperatures and underground salt movement are responsible for the sculptured rock scenery of Arches NP. It took 100 million years of erosion to create this land that has the greatest density of arches in the world. We traveled here in early October and planned to stay for a month or more, until the weather changed, exploring the area. After checking out the cute but growing town of Moab we headed to Arches NP and stayed at Devil's Garden Camp. We then focused our attention on a different area of the park each day and explored it by hiking one of the many trails. It is truly splendid. Go to Arches NP website | |
