Lake Nicaragua
On one of our last days in Granada we walked quite a number miles on the roads near the coast of Lake Nicaragua. Sometimes the roads took us right along the coast and other times the roads took us further inland by clusters of houses built of rock, cement and stone with corrugated tin roofs. As morning gave way to afternoon the temperatures rose and it was becoming uncomfortably warm. As we once more approached the coast line we walked up to a house and asked the occupants if they knew of anyone who had a boat that could take us back to Granada and provide us with a scenic tour along the way. After some discussion in Spanish and then some deep thinking on the part of the local man and finally more discussion and negotiation, it was determined that his son, who would be returning soon had a friend with a boat. The price was agreed. While we waited for the son for about an hour we chatted with the man and his family. When the son arrived we then walked for about a half an hour to find the friend with the boat. Nicaragua photolog: 15 of 18 [ <prev| next>] |
