Traveling As the Local People Do
Bus seating is usually scaled for people of smaller stature than Chuck. His choice of seats is the middle of the back row where he can stretch his legs. This is also the area that all the luggage is stowed. At one point he even had a caged chicken in a cardboard box as a seat companion. Traveling like this is both fascinating and inexpensive. An added side benefit is that the local people were interested in us and why we were there traveling like that. They are curious about people from other countries, but those people are usually unapproachable because they are either in groups or hire private transportation. Our Spanish helped us get to know and understand a little about these people and permitted us to be accessible to them. Transportation Overview photolog: 8 of 11 [ <prev| next>] |
