Spanish Immersion With Legia

It was about 5pm. We were looking for a restaurant to eat an early dinner.

We had socialized all day without eating and I thought I was starving. So we walked to the opposite end of town where we had been told was a good restaurant on the beach. However, the restaurant was closed until 7pm.

We were heading back to the main street in search of food when Chuck heard some music coming from inside a house further away. He wanted to find out what it was. I had no patience and so we agreed to meet at Starfish Coffee House later

About 20 minutes later he walked up to where I was sitting on an outdoor bench. He appeared guilty... as if he knew he had done something wrong... something that he didn't want to tell me, but knew that he must.

The story is ..... next to the house that was playing loud music was a beautiful house with palapas and cabanas. The people there taught Spanish and rented rooms. Chuck investigated and was hooked immediately. He was now approaching me with an agenda in mind. He wanted us to live there and take Spanish lessons.

We checked it out further, but they were full (completo) for the following week. They directed us around the corner to where the former principal of the local school lived. She rented rooms and taught Spanish.

We found her, rented a room with a private bath and negotiated for individual Spanish lessons for 2 hours a day for each of us for 1 week. The price for the room and lessons was equivalent to $25US/day.

Once again we were studying Spanish. We cycled and kayaked in the morning when the skies were clear. Then we studied Spanish with Legia in the afternoon when the rains were likely.
