Trekking on the GR-5 Belgium

OK... here's the story. Marc's wife was due to have a baby. My sister Jacki was not going to join us for another 3 weeks and we had eliminated Morocco from our travel plans because the Iraq War had started and the Peace Corp had removed all their people from Morocco for safety reasons. We figure that it might be a good idea for us to follow suit and not go there. Maybe we were right and maybe it was a missed opportunity. It did mean that we had three weeks to get creative with our time. Back in Portugal we had seen the signs for the 'walking routes'. Now as as good a time as any to try one out. We left our bicycles at Marc's and caught a train to Diest, a town on one of the paths.
