After we became sufficiently familiar with Yang Shou we hired a guide, Jou Li, to cycle with us around Yang Shou and to neighboring villages.

I watched the 'garbage woman' collect and sort garbage. Wet food for pig food or compost, plastic and tin to recycle, and other bits to recycle. When she was finished, she collected very little garbage for disposal.
