Bicycling Baja Mexico (March 2001)

The route follows the Pacific coast until the mountains force the road high across the desert and then back down to Guererro Negro adjacent to a Scammon's Lagoon filled with birthing whales in winter. From there the route crosses a lower desert and jungle before climbing over the mountains to the Sea of Cortez which it follows past Bahia Concepcion to Loreto. The route then travels through the central farm country before looping by La Paz, Casa de John Spencer, Cabo San Lucan and Todo Santos.
